In Love with London

I have always been intrigued by people and instantly fell in love with the vibrant, multi-cultural city of London that connected all these individuals with all their different stories and experiences. I revelled in hearing about their choices, their desires and the way they wanted to live life to the fullest.

Jekyll without Hyde

I have always known that there was a sensual side to me, from wanting to be a Playboy Bunny at 18, constantly reading the sex-expert column in the paper and exploring my own sexuality in my late 20s and early 30s. Yet, outwardly, when dating, I was a polished, accomplished professional – and I have always kept the two sides separate, as I felt that was the right thing to do.

Hide and Seek

Needless to say, it never worked out. There was a big part of me that I concealed from suitors. The side that didn’t fit the dating profile I thought one should portray. I would then get bored of dating because I didn't find that deeper connection I was looking for. This, in turn, led me to look for men who I was only physically attracted to and where neither of us wanted anything serious. Surprise: that didn’t fulfill me, either.

Owning who you really are is truly liberating.

yo-yoing from Yin to Yang

By now, it was crystal clear that there were two hearts beating in my chest. I found myself in this never ending-circle of yo-yoing from one end of the spectrum to the other – trying to decide which ‘side’ of me to give up. I thought I couldn’t be both, but we are complex creatures. Of course we adapt to our surroundings and company. However, there are very few people that can hide such a big part of who they are for any sustained period of time.

Going into my 30s, I decided that I no longer wanted to hide the real me, and through my journey, I have met so many other people in a similar situation.

That’s why I created Tailor Matched – to make real connections materialise on a deeper level, to be a catalyst for wanting it all and making it happen, to make it possible to talk about what really matters to people when dating with no judgement and without shame.
